Outreach and Pray for a SIX year old Prostitute!!!!!!!!!

Daryl and I prayed about an hour before people began showing up at our place. With all the crazy crap that Tony’s been doing/threatening, we both felt that it was best if Daryl stayed home.

About 9:45 Johnny called to let me know that he was early (which was fine with me, better early than late – people being late is one of my pet peeves). I got my shoes on and grabbed two Trader Joes bags full of gift bags for the girls/prostitutes on my way out the door.

Julia was already parked and waiting – she’s always very punctual. :-) Very soon after, Jen pulled up, right on time.

We all piled into Julia’s Toyota and headed for 7-Eleven for coffee, prayer and a bathroom run. Then we headed for the freeway, which was moving kind of slow.

By the time we made it to the track it was a bit after 11pm. We saw a few girls right away, then didn’t see any as we drove the long stretch.

The first girl we tried to approach got picked up by a John. There were cars backed up wherever there was a girl on the corner. The next girl we approached was a cute 19 year old wearing a blond wig. She wasn’t into talking but she did take a gift bag.

A car with two guys hollered at Jen and I – I told them that we weren’t working and one of the guys said, “Yeah right!!!” I told them that we were giving gift bags to the girls and he said, “Oh – my bad.”

We saw another girl and she was on the phone – she looked scared and would not even look at us. Then another girl who was a bit older walked by and she wouldn’t talk to us either. We drove around a bit, stopped when we saw a couple more girls and got out of the car.

One of the girls was one of the ones who wouldn’t talk to us – the other said her name was “Candy” – she asked why we were giving her a gift, and was it for free? These girls are so shocked to get a gift with no strings attached – there is always some string attached in their world. NOTHING ever comes free.

Unfortunately I had to use the bathroom (as usual) and I asked “Candy” where a bathroom was (I knew that she would know) – the girls always know where the bathrooms are – they need to when they’re working on the street.

There were police patrolling up and down the street and some girls hid when they saw the cops. I ended up getting a carne asada taco from a Roach Coach (yum) and when we pulled up I noticed a bling bling Cadillac from out of state plates. I nudged Julia and said, “let’s play a game – guess who owns the bling bling Cadi!”

It wasn’t long before we saw him, Julia and I agreed. His name was Arey. I introduced myself to him, asked him if he owned the Cadi and of course he said yes. I asked him what kind of work he did and he said that he fixed up cars and he asked what I thought he did. I told him that I thought he pimped. He didn’t flinch. I handed him a pimp track and he saw the Ben Franklin and started to read it – he said, “I already like this, can I keep it?” Of course I said yes – and his friend Don walked up to us and I handed him a track.

He asked me what I was doing and I told him and he asked if I was from a church and I said that I was a born again Christian and that we were out on the street giving gift bags to the prostitutes because I used to be one and I want them to know that they are special. He said that everybody’s special, but I said that it’s important for these girls to know that they are.

He said that it was cool that I was a “foot soldier” – at first I didn’t know if he meant walking the streets and I gave him a weird look – then he said that he meant a spiritual foot soldier – that he was one too. I asked him if he went to church nearby and he said “no, he doesn’t have to go to church…”

I tried to give them a testimony tract and neither would take one – but they sure wanted to keep the pimp tracts! :-)

So overall it was a pretty mellow night – we didn’t get to pray for anyone – the girls weren’t very receptive tonight. Oh well. Maybe next time. That’s the thing about this outreach – every night we go out it is totally different than the last. One week it’s crazy with tons of girls out and next there are only a few. One week the girls are totally receptive, the next they aren’t.

There was a black Charger with bling bling rims driving up and down the street (with windows tinted so dark I couldn’t see who was inside) and I sense that there was a good chance that the girls who appeared scared or wouldn’t talk to us were with him.

Thank you so much for your prayers… I’m going to crash now!!!!!! :-)

There is a SIX year old girl who has been turned out by her parents who are both drug addicts. Without giving too many details (because her case is being investigated right now) – we need for people to PRAY that this little girl does not “disappear.” Her father has her right now and he may have been tipped off. It is CRUCIAL that we pray that the girl will not be taken away – that she stay in the same area she has been so that the people working on her case will still be able to know her whereabouts.

Unfortunately, the law enforcement in the area has not done anything about this in spite of the numerous complaints and reports that have been made about the young child.

We know that Jesus LOVES and cares what happens to this child – please pray for her protection, for the proper authorities/law enforcement is involved – that they have a passion to get the entire crew of people involved with this little girl… there are more than just her parents involved.

Please also pray for the investigators/people involved – for wisdom, insight, unity, and favor with whoever they work with on this. Thank you so much!!!
