Laurie Ishii and Daryl Bargy

Well… there were some crazy things that happened earlier in the day
- just little distractions – like we didn’t know who we could find to
drive (because Daryl wasn’t going to go with us at first because he
was going fishing at 6am) so because we weren’t able to find a ride
Daryl agreed to go on the outreach at 1am instead of 3am – and stay up
through the night and go fishing. Then because Fred takes the bus from
Torrance to Hollywood every week – his last bus runs at 11:57pm – he
gets to Hollywood at about 1am – we said we’d pick him up at his bus
stop at 1pm.

Wouldn’t you know it – Fred called at 12:30 and said that his bus
never came. He said that had never happened before – but it did last
night! So, since we were going sort of in that direction – Daryl said
we would pick him up on the way to Lynwood.

With all the little distractions we believed that we should expect
great things once we got out on the street.

We met Ty at Reality LA office, and Rebekah in Lynwood. We prayed on
the way to Lynwood and then we prayed again once we met up with
Rebekah.

The first girls we saw were white girls – two of them – one was named
“M**” and for the life of me I can’t remember the other one’s name -
it wasn’t her real name anyway. God knows her name. M** was nineteen
and the other was in her 20′s – she said she was supporting her two
kids – and both of them said “I’m not planning on doing this for very
long, its just temporary.”

The girl with kids said that her pimp was her kid’s daddy. We saw
their pimps – yes PIMPS – they were all riding together – actually
there were three of them in one car with one other girl in the back of
an SUV. The girls said they were from Pomona. After we had talked for
a few minutes, they thanked us and said they had to get to work. They
both took a purse – I used these cute purses my friend Rachel gave me
to give the girls – and put some girly things and tracts in the
pockets.

The next girl we ran into was ‘S**’ – she had the prettiest smile and
was dressed in all yellow. We let her pick a bag (I had to put
together all different sizes of bags and purses because I ran out of
bags) and as we were talking, she said the same thing – that “I’m not
planning on doing this for very long, its just temporary.” While
Rebekah and I were talking to S** and Fred, Ty and Daryl (and Ziggy)
were standing nearby – this little gang banger guy (Hispanic) came up
all confronting like, saying, “What are you guys doing out here? This
is my block – we don’t want you here.” (With his arms waving around.)

It was almost surreal – because I don’t know about everyone else, but
I wasn’t about to leave until we finished taking with S**. I think
Rebekah felt the same way. This guy was acting all hard and asked what
we were doing and we told him that we were sharing Jesus with people -
did he know Jesus? He said he did – with an attitude. Then three of
his buddies walked up and I’m sorry, but to me they just looked like a
bunch of kids – not even hardcore at all – the only one who said
anything was the guy with the big mouth. The guy with the big mouth
said, “You guys need to leave – get out of here, you and your dog.”
(Poor Ziggy!) It sounded so funny when he said that.

Rebekah and I went back to talking to Sid, and Ty talked to the gang
guys a bit – and I heard him say, “God bless you” and they walked away
down the street. So we finished up – and then S**’s pimp and
wife-in-law drove up and called out and asked what was going on. S**
just said that “Some gang bangers came by asking what we were doing
and to get off their block – but I’m fine, these are God’s people.”

I went up to the car and gave her pimp (M***) a pimp tract and the
wife-in-law (‘J******’) a gift bag.

After we left her, we ran into two girls – “F****” and “H****” – we
talked for quite some time. F**** shared I asked) that she had already
made $900 that night. She said the same thing – “I’m not planning on
doing this for very long, its just temporary.” (I lost count how many
times we heard that last night)

It was funny cause I shared with them that I used to prostitute and I
asked her how long she’d been in the game (I forgot how long – I think
she said two years – she’s also going to college while she’s hooking)
and it was so funny cause she asked me how long I was in the game and
I told her that I wasn’t in the game, I just worked on my own -
renegade, but that I knew the rules of the game.

She then looked at Rebekah and said, “Does she know the game?” I said,
“Yeah, she knows a lot about it” and Fancy said, “But you taught her,
right? Because I KNOW she aint never been in the game!” We were all
laughing.

Okay, this is getting long… but after that we ran into a girl named
M******. She broke my heart. She said she’s been turning tricks since
she was 14 years old! She is going to be 21 in January. She let us
talk to her for quite a while – she didn’t have a pimp. She was really
sweet. She said she used to make a lot more money before she went to
Vegas – now that she’s back there are lots of new girls and
competition.

We kept telling her that she was beautiful and that God has a plan for
her life and it wasn’t prostituting – and she said that she wasn’t
always beautiful – she used to be very overweight like over 200 lbs.
and once she went on a crash diet and ended up passing out and had to
go to the hospital. She also said that she wasn’t ever popular either.

She just seemed…so wounded. She let us pray for
her, and we let her have both a bag and a purse.

We also met a girl who was on ecstasy, and another woman named S*****.

S***** has a sister that has been abducted – her name is Shea – please
pray for her. I guess she’s even been on the news. She just
disappeared. Ty and Rebekah had been talking to her while Daryl, Fred
and I were talking to the girl on ecstasy that said she never
prostituted before (we didn’t believe her) and I walked up while Ty
and Rebekah were talking to S*****…

She let Rebekah pray for her and it was weird, I just felt strongly
that the enemy was trying to keep her in bondage so that she couldn’t
receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior. I kept praying and binding the
enemy under my breath and one could tell that God has been calling her
life – she said that she’s been going to church and the last time the
preacher said, “There’s someone here that isn’t saved” and she was
like “Oh no‚Ķ”

Anyway, I won’t go into all the details, but she finally agreed to
pray to receive Jesus and be born again. Afterwards, Rebekah asked
S***** if she liked to cook. She felt that God was saying that maybe
that would be the way that S*****’s income would come from. S*****
said that she loved to cook – and that she was very good at it – and
that she had a friend who had a restaurant who had just told her
earlier that day that he would let her work at his restaurant! Praise
God! Confirmation! I forgot to mention – the Lord was giving Rebekah
words of knowledge all night and this was only one of them. It was
such a blessing.

Okay, I’m pooped. Thank you to everyone who’s been praying for the
people we talk to – and oh – please pray for our finances – I just
spent $200 on 100 pocket sized new testaments I ordered online and we
need more gift bags ‚Äì I’m going to try to keep the bags small from now
on ‚Äì they seem to work better and they’re easier for the girls to
carry. We also need more Target gift cards.

I think that’s about everything ‚Äì oh ‚Äì please pray for our class
tomorrow too…thank you!!!

P.S. We didn’t see Y** – I don’t know whether that’s good or bad. Please continue praying for her. We handed out 16 bags – and only 3 were ‘repeats’. Obv
