Sick at Home on CHRISTmas…

Monday, December 25th, 2006
Daryl and I are home for Christmas! Yesterday we were at the ER at County hospital USC. Last Tuesday Daryl got two teeth extracted and two days later he woke up covered with big red hives/welts from head to toe! He also had fever of 101.3 and when I called my uncle who's a dentist he said that Daryl's symptoms weren't normal and to go to the ER. So we did. Thankfully, he was seen immediately, and given an IV with antibiotics and Benedryl. The doc said that it seemed that Daryl had an alergic reaction from something he was given when he got his tooth pulled. (Anesthesia?) We were out of the hopital in four hours! (Miracle, praise God!) Daryl felt… Read More

Prostitutes Murdered in Suffolk

Friday, December 22nd, 2006
There are articles written about the murders in Suffolk - 5 prostitutes that worked in the Red Light district in Ipswich, in the UK. I read a little bit about each one of the women, and all 5 of them were drug addicts. A couple of them were heroin addicts, one was a crack addict and the article didn't specify what drugs the other two women were addicted to. The brutal fact was that these women were all addicts. My heart broke when I read about them - but the fact that they were prostituting to support their drug habits did not surprise me at all. While I was using drugs, I had sex with people to get more drugs - when I was using cocaine I didn't… Read More

My Story…

Friday, December 15th, 2006
I decided to write a little more detailed testimony and I have it on myspace and so I just copied and pasted it onto here. Bear with me - this is LONG and even then, I got pretty tired at the end of it and cut it kinda short... I used to be a dope fiend (in the worst way) shooting anything I could get in my veins, which led to a life of prostitution, depression and numerous suicide attempts...This is my story. Born in 1968 in Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Los Angeles , I was raised in a strict home. As a child I seriously tried to live up to my parent's standards. I really always wanted their love and approval ‚Äì especially my dad's.… Read More

MYSPACE

Monday, December 11th, 2006
Yes, I have a myspace. I got it months ago. One of the pimps we minister to came to church and brought his mother and also his son - and it was awesome because later that day the young man (the son) called me and shared that he was saved and was on fire for the Lord at one time but he fell away. He let me pray for him and he told me he had a myspace but I didn't back then and wasn't ever planning to but I wasn't able to write to him unless I had a myspace too. So, that's why I got one. Then I figured that it would be another great way to minister online and share my testimony - and I have met some great people on there and also found a bunch… Read More

REALITY LA

Friday, December 8th, 2006
Praise God... this week I seem to be doing much better. Last week I felt hormonal and really - like psycho woman. I have been reading this book by Dwight Edwards called "Revolution Within" - my friend Victoria gave me the book a few months back and while we were on the phone earlier this week she encouraged me to read it. So, when I got home I dug it out of the pile of books I have in the room and started reading. It has really been encouraging. It is somewhat 'basic' in what he speaks about - our identity in Christ - but he explains it in a way where it is easily broken down and understandable. I can really identify with what he says. I've realized… Read More

Disability/MediCal

Friday, December 1st, 2006
Okay. This morning I went to USC hospital to meet a woman/case worker who takes care of medi-cal and financial services. She was really nice - I am so grateful. My last experience with the case worker from the welfare office was almost traumatic...I don't remember if I shared that before. Well, when I went to apply for medi-cal a couple of months ago - I wanted for almost 5 hours and there was a guy who came out and said that my case worker was going to see me next - that my paperwork was on his desk but that he went to lunch and he'd be back in 20 minutes or so. So in a half hour I checked at the front desk to see if my case worker was back… Read More
