Frida

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004
It took me quite a while to drag my butt out of bed this morning. I‚Äôm still pretty fatigued. Somehow I can deal better with the pain from the Fibromyalgia than I can with the exhaustion from the CFS. (or Hepatitis?) I checked my e-mails when I finally got up, and my good friend Frida sent me such an encouraging e-mail. I met Frida almost two years ago, she‚Äôs from Sweden. We worked in the kitchen at the Dream Center together, with another friend of ours named Teresa from New Zealand. Frida was always so sensitive, asking me how I was doing, especially when it was cold out and she could tell that I moving in pain. Teresa was just funny.… Read More

Another Sunday

Sunday, November 28th, 2004
I‚Äôve been up since 5am. I started feeling sick the day I went to Mac Arthur Park, but I just had a sore throat and stuffy nose. Well, Thanksgiving Day I began feeling sicker, and by yesterday I was so ill I stayed in bed all day. I think it‚Äôs a CFS flare up, along with this cold. Or, it could be the Hepatitis. I want to go to church this morning though. I‚Äôll write more when I feel better. Read More

Mac Arthur Park

Wednesday, November 24th, 2004
Wow, I just got home from an outreach we did at Mac Arthur Park. There were a lot of people at the park - some homeless, some just hanging out‚Ķand a bunch of teenage/jr. high (?) students from a school in Cerritos. It was such a blessing, we had an altar call and at least two dozen students and about a dozen of adults came up to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Many were crying and the Holy Spirit was moving big time. I was able to pray ‚Äògenerally‚Äô for a lot of the teenage girls, and then more personally (individually) with a woman named ‚ÄòAngela‚Äô who is 54 years old and homeless. I saw her crying after the altar… Read More

Santa Monica

Wednesday, November 24th, 2004
Well, after I told Daryl the outreach at Mac Arthur park, he was all gung ho and wanted to go on an outreach too. I told him about the Santa Monica Outreach tonight - so we‚Äôre going to leave in an hour or so to meet the other Interns at the Dream Center. It‚Äôs so exciting to see the way Daryl is so excited about going out to minister to people. He really has a heart for people, and wants to pray for everybody! Actually, we do very well together as a team, because I do a lot of evangelizing, but sometimes I almost ‚Äòforget‚Äô to ask people if they want prayer! Daryl‚Äôs right there to remind me. I love my husband so much, and… Read More

Tuesday

Since I have begun to feel better and better every day, I‚Äôm starting to do the things I usually do but haven‚Äôt been able to until recently. Like clean the house! Cook dinner, do laundry, etc. Praise God, I am so thankful‚ĶDaryl and I have been talking a lot about my condition‚Ķhe still needs to get tested. The doctor I saw yesterday said that last year when I was tested, my liver enzyme count was still abnormal‚Ķand that the CFS may have caused the hepatitis to flare up‚Ķso I may have had this before now but tested negative‚Ķ??? On Thursday Daryl and I are going to spend Thanksgiving at my dad‚Äôs - before our… Read More

Love…

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2004
I‚Äôm just sitting here thinking‚ĶI‚Äôm so glad to go out on Thanksgiving day and serve food to people on the strand, working with other believers‚Ķworking together in unity‚Ķlike it says in Psalm 133:1 ‚ÄúHow good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity.‚Äù I have had so many opportunities to work beside other believers‚Ķand quite honestly I‚Äôve had equally both good and bad experiences with other brothers and sisters. I‚Äôve come to realize how neccessary it is to humble ourselves and submit to one another‚ĶPaul says in Php.2:2-3 ‚Äú‚Ķ make my joy complete by being like-minded, having… Read More

Hours Later…

Monday, November 22nd, 2004
Wow. It took me almost 6 hours brfore I was done at the hospital. (County General) It went pretty well, I really liked the nurse practitioner a lot. He was really nice, and very informative. He asked me many questions about my past and medical history and I had an opportunity to tell him that I am a born again Christian, and he even wrote that on his report. I have to go to get an ultrasound, and I had to get my blood drawn‚Ķthat is always such a headache, because I‚Äôve used all of my veins when I was using. The nurse got a vein on my first finger, filled two tubes and then the vein blew out. Darn. Another nurse had to try and got one… Read More

Sunday After Church

Sunday, November 21st, 2004
Well, the ‚ÄòTurkey Give Away‚Äô went pretty well! Things went pretty smoothly - the church was PACKED, filled from the first floor through the second balcony. Daryl is taking a nap, before we go grocery shopping. (Which can be an almost ‚Äòall day event‚Äô.) I want to go to Trader Joes - I love shopping there. Last night‚Äôs Billy Graham Crusade was great. I think that Daryl‚Äôs bosses son and his girlfriend really enjoyed it too. They went down for the altar call (after a little prompting from Daryl) but they had to get home around 9:00 (they were only 16 and 18 years of age) so only God knows where… Read More
